Vienna in the late 1920s: As a schoolboy from a wealthy Jewish family, Bruno
Kreisky is accepted only reluctantly by the Socialist Workers’ Youth.

As political tensions in the country escalate, Bruno and his fellow young activists risk everything. Together, they organise banned meetings, distribute calls to resistance and rise up against the fascist regime. In doing so, they put not only their freedom but also their lives at risk. Bruno steadfastly defends his ideals and resolutely follows his own path – from a youthful rebel to a social-democratic statesman on the world stage.
